SGH-6 got best sound. But need to listen again on my pc with mastering headphones. SSH-6 had best results in outdoor.

Still value this test over all others of H6 on Youtub3 I have watched.

Great video ! In silence mode, how is it possible to get the directivity of the sound ? Is it a kind of "beamforming" ? Are microphones used as microphone array or acoustic antenna or something like this ?

Excellent, so helpful, thank you! I’ve an H5 with just xy for occasional live events. Been eyeing the shotguns, unsure whether one would be better. Now I know I’ll go SSH. The SGH would have fallen a little flat and disappointing. I think the SSH will do, but only on the tripod for now. I also have a Q2n 1080. Now paired with the H5/ SSH with optional Shures forside mics I’ll be adequately geared for now. No on will hire me to do their sound but we are just hobbyists.

Great review. Your results match what I have found with the H6 and the XYH-6 mic. Due to it being a dynamic mic you really have to drive it pretty hard with the gain setting. I prefer the XYH-5 condenser mic. You don't have to drive it so hard and it seems to sounds better and handle a higher SPL too.

doesnt work. isn't right lost after 23 seconds into the none of the numbers of the channels indicated in the tutorial come up. nothing. Unless you did something before the video none of what you said worked for my machine recommend no one follow this.

It always looks sooo EZ on UA-cam. If the hose is original there is little chance of it coming off with a flare wrench! Even with the flair wrench you will round off those fittings and make the leak worse. Buy both the high & low pressure hoses. Cut both lines near the fittings at the steering box. Use a deep socket to get on the fittings to remove the fitting/line. Low pressure first to gain access to the high pressure. 1/2 hour job.

How well would the Zoom H6 record noise when recording outdoors? I need to document/record noise that is produced by an HVAC (Air Conditioner) while it is running from about 8 ft away. I tried to record the noise with my phone, but the recording is not clear and the recording does not sound like when you hear the noise in person. Should a mic be used with this recorder to capture the noise? If yes, which mic is recommended?
